"Humble Labels" Application Activity: Preteen

Kids today are bombarded by television and media showing them examples of prideful and arrogant behavior. But, is this what God wants for us? Humility can be a difficult concept to adults to understand. Jesus was the most humble person who ever lived! He was so humble he gave his life for us, even when we didn’t deserve it! This series will seek to introduce children to the Biblical concept of humility and bring kids closer to understanding the amazing character of God!

HUMILITY: Knowing our gifts come from God and not from us.

MEMORY VERSE: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” James 4:10 NIV

CONNECTED LESSON:

King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

Scripture: Daniel 4

Pride can cause a lot of problems! It also shows that we aren’t giving credit where credit is due. In this lesson, kids will learn how God taught King Nebuchadnezzar to be humble.

Objective: Kids will learn that all our gifts come from God.

  • Application Activity- so kids can see how the Bible story and their own lives connect. This game or craft activity is designed to challenge kids to find ways to live out what they’ve leaned!
