King Nebuchadnezzar: A Biblical Example of Pride (Application Challenge and Prayer)

Students today are bombarded by television and media showing them examples of prideful and arrogant behavior. But, is this what God wants for us? Humility can be a difficult concept to students to understand. Jesus was the most humble person who ever lived! He was so humble he gave his life for us, even when we didn’t deserve it! This series will seek to introduce students to the Biblical concept of humility and bring kids closer to understanding the amazing character of God!

This application challenge and prayer activity is intended to encourage youth students to apply the King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream Youth Message to their own lives. The message and discussion questions can be purchased separately. For the entire lesson, please see the lesson plans tab.

“Our Big God”

Activity Overview

HUMILITY: Knowing our gifts come from God and not from us.

MEMORY VERSE: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” James 4:10 NIV

King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

Scripture: Daniel 4

Pride can cause a lot of problems! It also shows that we aren’t giving credit where credit is due. In this lesson, students will look at King Nebuchadnezzar: A Biblical Example of Pride.

Objective: Students will learn that God is worthy of our worship, and to devote our attention or affections to worldly things which are rightly owed to God is idolatry.

ACTIVITY INCLUDES:

  • Memory Verse - so that you can make sure students always have access to Scripture in their hearts and minds even when the going gets tough!

  • Weekly Application Challenge- so students can take real world steps to implementing the lesson into their lives each week!
